Additional 24,000 people are expected to cruise to Barbados during the winter that will come after the call Mein Schiff ship.Previously inaugural voyage known as the Celebrity Galaxy, Mein Schiff makes early visit Barbados on Monday November 9, and one week later the ship was met officials from Barbados Port Authority, the Barbados Tourism Authority, Foster & Ince Cruise Services, Platinum Port Agency, the media and guests of other important official tour to the ship.

Speaking at the official welcome ceremony, the captain, Kjell Holm said that TUI Cruises, a new brand created after a 50-50 partnership between TUI AG and Royal Caribbean Cruises, is a “win-win situation”, because these two great companies the ability to travel and cruise industry respectively.
At the end of October, Barbados recorded 6.7 percent increase in cruise ship arrivals compared with the corresponding period from January to October of 2008. As more tourists continue to seek greater value of their travel money, many are turning to all-inclusive cruise options. This should prove beneficial for the Caribbean, which remains the world’s No. 1 cruise destination.
Meanwhile, officials from the Bridgetown Port has stated their intention to carry out major redevelopment projects in the Bridgetown Port to improve the prospects homeporting, as well as improve the overall cruise experience to welcome visitors.
