January 18, 2010 will be D-Day for Jamaica Jazz and Blues Band Quest in New York City.
Officials and the Caribbean, Jamaica’s best annual music festival set to host the New York City audition at SOB’s – 204 Varick Street, New York, NY 10014-4809 – from January 7 to allow a lucky amateur musicians the opportunity to perform at the prestigious Greenfield Stadium, Trelawny, Jamaica.
New York audition, was presented by Link Up Media Group, Jamrock Magazine and Turn Key Productions, producer of the annual festival.
The winners will be flown to and hosted free of charge on the beautiful island of Jamaica and the opportunity to appear before thousands of fans at the birthplace of Bob Marley.
“This is the next logical step for us and develop our Music ideas,” said Walter Elmore, head of turnkey Productions. “Talented amateurs who wish to enter should visit the festival website smart and became a member of JJ & B Fan Zone. With the membership, people can upload their music and video performance.”
Winners will be judged by the choices of people who qualify, selected by the festival organizers and fans vote.
Separate auditions will be held in Florida from 7 to January 5, 2010 at Ginger Bay Café, 1908 Hollywood Blvd, Hollywood, FL.
Annual Jamaica Jazz & Blues Festival will be held from 24-30 January, 2010 in Jamaica.
Festival has become synonymous with Jamaican culture and the performance will feature not only local but international acts including killing several award-winning Gladys Knight, Kenneth ‘Babyface’ Edmonds, Erykah Badu, Billy Ocean, Joe Roy Jackson, Kelly Price, Tamia, Deborah Cox, Hall and Oats, Jon Secada, Monty Alexander, Roy Ayers, Third World, Machel Montano HD, Marion Hall, and Max Sam Milby.
Jamaica Jazz since it was introduced in 1996 known as the Air Jamaica Jazz and Blues Festival, has attracted thousands of visitors from the United States, Europe, the Caribbean and Jamaica.
This year, the festival is again presented by the main sponsor, the Jamaica Tourist Board. Other sponsors include Air Jamaica, Iberostar, Rose Hall Resort, CVM TV, Link Up Group, Jamrock Magazine and the company tax, among others.
