Digicel today announced details of the collaboration with international reggae artist, Shaggy, and the famous producer, Christopher Birch, to write and produce a song – Rise Again – to raise money for Digicel Haiti Relief Fund.
Rise Again is a song the Caribbean, which was written and performed by Caribbean artists to the people of Haiti.
When approached by Digicel to write a song, Shaggy directly to the studio with Christopher Birch, producer of the diamond-selling albums – Hot Shots. This song was written in less than a day and the rhythm produced in five days, and artists like Sean Paul and Sean Kingston – as well as other top Caribbean artists – with a fast boat to come and lend their support. Rose again being released around the world and 100% of the proceeds will go directly to the Digicel Haiti Relief Fund.
Speaking about the launch of the song, Shaggy said: “Arise Again is for the people of Haiti. This is to show them that we’re here for them and that we would support them each step as they begin rebuilding their lives which are destroyed by earthquakes. I’m very proud of this song and collaboration with Digicel. With the launch today Rise Again, we can raise much needed funds to support relief efforts in Haiti. ”

As Haiti’s largest investor with total investment of $ 300 million since it was launched in 2006, Digicel has more than two million customers in Haiti. The Digicel Haiti Relief Fund has donated U.S. $ 5 million for NGOs in Haiti to support relief efforts and more than U.S. $ 500,000 has been raised by Digicel customers in the Caribbean and Central America through the contributions of text and voice lines. Digicel also gave each of the two million subscribers in the U.S. $ 5 free credit – worth U.S. $ 10 million.
