R & B songstress, Erykah Badu, will make a second performance in Jamaica on Friday, January 29 at the Jamaica Jazz and Blues Festival at The Greenfield Stadium, Trelawny.

Erykah Badu burst into the music scene with the highly anticipated and Critically acclaimed 1997 debut album, Baduizm. Debut album at # 2 on the Billboard charts, and the lead single On & On burning through the charts in the U.S. and the UK. Since then, not only On & On has become a soul / R & B anthem, but Erykah continue recording hit after hit, and mesmerise audiences worldwide with her voice.

Darling replaced Badu American Idol Jennifer Hudson, who pulled from the festival after being asked by the North American record industry mogul Clive Davis to perform a special tribute during the Grammy’s is dedicated to him.

“We are disappointed that Jennifer could not perform at the festival. He was asked by Clive Davis to give a special performance during the Grammy’s tribute will be a stage in his honor, and he was to perform at the festival here, he would not ‘t be able to attend training and get a job preparation completed in time for that special performance, “said Walter Elmore, executive producer of JAMAICA Jazz and Blues Festival.

Meanwhile, Elmore – who is also head of turnkey Productions, said that the addition of Erykah Badu to the festival is “more than what anyone could ask for”.

“When we heard Jennifer will become unavailable, we were wondering who we can get all the people who can WOW and just take the festival to a new level. Erykha Badu is a great singer, an entertainer, and he will bring flair and style to festival, and this is the second time to appear in Jamaica, “Elmore said when asked why elected Erykah Badu.

Erykah Badu’s repertoire of music includes five albums, and the sixth is expected to be released in 2010.

Performance in 2010 The JAMAICA Jazz and Blues Festival will be a seven-day celebration of The Art of Music that will see the Montego Bay swallowed stunning scenery and the sound of turnkey Productions event from 24-30 January.

Signature performance of the night will take place from 28-30 January in Greenfield, in Trelawny, which is 12 miles and 12 minutes from Rose Hall. After seeing the appearance of people like Alicia Keyes, Kenny Rogers, and many more, the stage of this year’s festival will welcome Gladys Knight Joss Stone, Erykah Badu, John Staccado, Deboroah Cox, Kelly Price, Tamia, and Timeless reggae crooner Billy Ocean again and the reggae band Third World.
