In 2007 singer Romain Virgo, then only 17 years, making history as the youngest person to win the Digicel Rising Stars, Jamaica is a very popular TV talent competition.

Romain Champion contest with rollicking interpretation Stevie Wonder’s “Sir Duke”, who get a warm reception from the judges and the applause from the studio audience. Romain Jamaica also won the hearts of TV viewers with a vocal kind of humility and strength, which evokes the essence of respected soul star Sam Cooke, Otis Redding and Marvin Gaye.
Among the prizes awarded to the champion Rising Stars is JA $ 1 million (approximately U.S. $ 11,300) and the opportunity to record with producer Richard “Shams” Browne and Tony Rebel.

8th Annual Caribbean Conference to be held in Jamaica
Caribbean 8th Annual Conference will be held 3-10 January 2010 at the Hilton Hotel in Kingston, Jamaica under the theme, Innovative Solutions for Challenging Times. This conference will be presented by student clubs Caribbean MBA from The Wharton School and Harvard Business School.
